Welcome.....St Anne's School was founded by the Sisters of Mercy and officially opened 23 May 1925. Our school provides students from Prep to Year Six with a contemporary and well-balanced Catholic education in a family atmosphere. The school family consists of a caring and willing group of parents and students, together with a dedicated and experienced staff.
St Anne’s Catholic Primary School is located in the coastal town of Sarina, in the Rockhampton Diocese. The student population of the school remains relatively stable. Parents believe that St Anne’s offers their children a quality educational curriculum in an environment of care and nurturing, support and respect. The school has a very strong sense of community ownership. Strong support exists between staff, students and parents with a very active and dedicated Parents and Friends Committee and School Board. |

From the Principal...
Our recent Garden Party, proudly hosted by our dedicated Parents and Friends Association, was a wonderful success. The event brought together families, staff, and friends of St Anne’s in a warm and vibrant atmosphere. The strong turnout and enthusiastic participation reflected the spirit of partnership that defines our school community. I extend my sincere thanks to everyone who contributed their time, creativity, and energy to make the Garden Party such an enjoyable occasion.
One of the greatest strengths of St Anne’s is the way families engage with the life of the school. When families, staff, and students work together, we create a community where children feel supported, valued, and confident. Research consistently shows that strong family to school partnerships lead to improved wellbeing, stronger learning outcomes, and a deeper sense of belonging. Your involvement whether attending events, volunteering, or simply staying connected helps us continue to grow as one united community.
A key focus for us this term is reinforcing the importance of daily reading with young students. National literacy data highlights that children who read with an adult for just 10–15 minutes each day build stronger vocabulary, improved comprehension, and greater confidence as learners. Regular reading at home, combined with high‑quality instruction at school, sets students up for long‑term academic success. Establishing predictable routines such as reading before bed or after dinner helps children develop consistency, security, and a love of learning that will support them throughout their schooling.
Thank you for your ongoing support and for helping us finish the term with such strength and positivity. Your partnership makes a genuine difference, and we look forward to continuing this momentum into the next term.
